First Impressions are important aren't they? I can look back on a few instances in my life where I was wearing the wrong outfit for a very formal event or overdressed for an event that was casual. After those nightmarish tales you would think I wouldn't want to talk about it, but it is actually the other way around. Talking about those horrific situations helps me to learn how to not ever do it again and be better prepared for any future events.
We'll talk soon. Have a awesome Holiday!

Scam Alert!
Good Morning Everyone,
I just wanted to make a note of this and also wanted you all to be aware. There was a previous post that I had in regards to customer service jobs provided to you by WAHS and the owner of the site emailed me to let me know that StarTek(who is being scammed) is indicating that its name is being used in a scam. Here is the link she provided: http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=6Ao13&m=1axFDs9scYyq91&b=rBfAcyJ2pYzMx0g1z4jRaw. StarTek does list jobs on its site and Leslie Truex, whom I am working with in bringing these awesome jobs to your desktop, has since removed the StarTek job from her blog post. The post came from CareerBuilder and has since been removed. We are both not clear if that posting was part of the impersonating scammers, but to be safe I am sending you this notice. So please be very cautious and NEVER pay for a work from home job. Whatever form of payment that may be, whether it be Western Union, the company taking a percentage of whatever you earn and sending “the rest” or “their percentage”, this just doesn’t happen and is illegal. So take note and be weary.
This is especially harsh too because since we are presently in a recession, scammers are on the rise and using any means necessary to get to your checking, savings, email…you name it scammers find a way. So be cautious and keep your eyes and ears open. If it is too good to be true, then it probably is.
Sincerely,
~Mandu

Starting Out in an Online Business Venture
Good Morning,
For the next few days I am going to be sharing a post that I read about in regards to starting an online store for the first time and what is important in getting it off the ground successfully. I have been online off and on since 2002 and I am always learning, trying new avenues and sometimes dropping blogs altogether. This is what having a business, any kind of business is all about. You have to be willing to change your perspective and overall facade if the one you created isn't working and if it is keep it, but always find new ways and ideas to keep it growing and expanding into a successful business.
Enjoy these tips for the next few days and take notes too.
To Your Success!
Sincerely,

How to Start a Santa Letter Business
A Santa Letter Business is a Great Business for Both Seasonal or Year Round
If you like spreading Holiday joy and the mere thought of making a child smile and their eyes light up with a personalized Santa letter then this could be the perfect business for you. And what a fun one at that! A Santa Letter Business can be something that you do only around the Holidays to bring a little extra cash in or it can be a year round business. Whether you decide to do it only around the Holidays or year round it can be profitable if you know what you are doing.
Of course running a business takes hard work too. You’ll need to be prepared for the Holiday season and the orders that will come in. You will need to make sure that you are stocked up on postage, leave yourself enough time to get the letters mailed so that they reach their destination on time. Remember these letters are coming from the North Pole after all ;-)
First before you start thinking about taking orders for the letters you need to think about the business aspect of things. You will need to appear as professional as possible and follow some basic business principles like having a business checking account. It’s a good idea to have a website to promote your business too. These are all things you will need to think about.
Maybe the thought of doing this year round has you questioning how that’s possible. After all Santa letters are only going to be in ‘season’ for a few short months. Believe it or not there are many options for this business.
If you are interested in taking your Santa Letter business a step further and turning it into a year round business pick up your copy of Mom’s Talk Biz Guide to Starting Your Own Santa Letter Business . It provides tips on how to make it a full-time business. The guide also provides pointers such as the skills to get your business off the ground, tools and materials needed, how to get a North Pole postmark, marketing to your local area as well as some basic business tips such as whether or not you need to register your Santa Letter business and tax deductions and tips.

Ghostwriting for Pay
Got Writing Skills? Get Paid to Write Every Day as a Ghostwriter
If you have ever dreamed about having a career in freelance writing, you might look into the growing opportunity of ghostwriting. Ghostwriting is the practice of writing works (books, articles, etc.) anonymously for a client. In turn, the client gets full rights to place her name on the writing and publish it as her own.
Side Note: If you've heard of ghostwriting before and you already know it's a career path you want to pursue, I recommend you pick up a copy of Just Add Sweat's "How to Become a Ghostwriter" Guide. It will show you exactly what you need to know to get started.
But if you're new to the idea of becoming a ghostwriter, let's continue:
To get into ghostwriting, there are a few skills you should have or work to acquire:
- Excellent Writing Skills: Certainly to be a ghostwriter, you need to be able to write well. Your writing should flow well, cover topics thoroughly and in many cases, your clients will expect you to capture their unique voice in your writing.
- Research Skills: As a ghostwriter, you'll be responsible for finding and processing all of the information that you will need to be able to do your writing on a specific topic.
- Grammar & Spelling: It might seem obvious, but it's important to note. All of the work that you turn into your clients as a ghostwriter must be free of any grammar and spelling errors.
Many different types of businesses and individuals readily use ghostwriting services. Authors, business executives, celebrities and others may look to ghostwriters to write books for them. Online business owners, blog publishers and other websites hire writers to create articles and other content. Information product sellers look to ghostwriters to publish how-to and other instructional guides. The sky is the limit when you are looking for people who want to hire ghostwriters.
There are many things you can do put yourself ahead in this field (and the How to Become a Ghostwriter Guide covers these and more in depth).
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Start building a resume that will get you noticed. Highlight any writing experience and if you don't have any, you can offer to do a few free small projects to build your resume. Approach a non-profit business or someone that you know that might need writing services.
- Determine which topics you are qualified to write about. Although many ghostwriters are well-rounded and can write on many researchable topics, having a specialty can help you get work. For example, you might have special knowledge of health, finance or parenting topics. Use this to your advantage.
- Have relevant samples readily available to showcase your writing skills. Many clients are more concerned with how well you write, rather than the amount of experience you've had.
To get more help, get a copy of Just Add Sweat's "How to Become a Ghostwriter" Guide. It will help you discover if ghostwriting is indeed the right career for you, how to break into the business, service rates and more. Ghostwriting can be a competitive business, but there is plenty of room for new writers if you're armed with the right approach and that's exactly what the guide will give you. Click here for all the details.

If you have any doubts about working from home as a career or even part time, then this article should help you get on the right track about if telecommuting is for you or not. I used to struggle with that very question, but as a woman and FT Homemaker I knew that there had to be a better way to support my family. Thankfully I can now go forward to achieving this in baby steps. Good Luck and Enjoy this very illuminating article.

Are You Cut Out For a Telecommuting Position? by Nell Taliercio
The idea of being able to work from your own home office holds a lot of appeal. It enables you to spend more time with your family and less time with the hassles of getting to and from work. It also helps cut down on some of your living costs by saving on gas money and work clothes.
But, not everyone is really cut out to be a telecommuter. Some people see working from home as an easy way to make money. That’s a myth and those who believe that will probably find themselves without the job they had worked hard to get. So, here are some questions to ask yourself to see if you qualify to be a successful telecommuter.
Do you have a home office set-up?
Since most jobs will require you to work on a computer or at least send and receive emails; you should have a computer with a high-speed internet connection in your home office. If you’re thinking about applying for a position where you might need to use a phone, then you should also look into a business line.
Someone looking to hire you to work for them will expect you to have at least some of the equipment needed on hand. This would include computer software. Not too many companies will be providing it to you. Research the type of job you’re looking to get into and see what kinds of things you will probably need to have in your office. Those who have what they need upfront have a higher chance of landing the job.
Are you able to work in a quiet area?
This is one of the biggest requirements most employers have. It can easily make or break your chance at the jobs you want to apply for. For positions like customer service, where you’ll be helping them over the phone, a quiet environment is a must.
You would be representing the company you’re working for. If a customer loses trust in you because of the screaming children in the background, then they lose trust in the company. If you’re not prepared to be a good representative for the business you’re working for, then telecommuting is not right for you or look into a position where the phone won’t be needed.
Do you have a flexible enough schedule to work?
Each company will have their own schedules of what hours they need you to work. Some may leave that up to you, but a lot have specific time frames or a specific amount of hours they need you to perform the job.
It could be a straight 8-4 job, or they may want you to work a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours later on in the day. While you don’t have to be available the whole day to work, at least have a good enough time frame set aside to where you could be available when they need you.
These are some of the things that are necessary to be a successful telecommuter. As long as you have the right attitude and the drive to perform your job the best way you can, your chances of making a success in the telecommuting industry increases.
Nell Taliercio has been working at home full time since 2004. She’s worked as a telecommuter, virtual assistant and affiliate marketer. In 5 years she’s discovered many secrets to finding legitimate work at home jobs and securing them. You can find work at home job information and tips at: http://www.justonlinejobs.com/

Are Job Searches Better in the Summer?
I have always wondered what it would be like, if I was unemployed and looking for a job if the pickings are better in the Summer than the Winter? Personally, I didn't think I was going to be able to find an article that answered my question fully, so when I did a small search for this topic, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. Hope you enjoy this article and all that it has to offer on this most interesting topic. Enjoy!

Going Christmas shopping is usually better after Thanksgiving. Going skiing is usually better in the winter after a good snow has fallen. Going hunting for beautiful flowers is usually better in the spring. And some argue that searching for a job is usually better in the summer.
Never heard of that? Well, you’re not alone. You, like most people, probably feel that there’s no right season to find a job. However, some experts beg to differ, believing that the down time many companies experience in the summer time offers a perfect opportunity to slide on in. While this myth has yet to be proven, if you happen to be searching in these summer months, there are some tips you can take advantage of to make your search easier.
Use Summer Family Events to Your Advantage
Summer is the time that people love to get out and enjoy each other’s company, so it’s a good idea to use this to your advantage by getting out and spending time with them. For instance, if your cousin is having a beautiful summer wedding, you can attend for support, and also get in a little networking. Or if there is a family barbeque that you don’t want to miss, don’t just eat the hamburgers and hot dogs, also get out there and meet some friends of the family. You never know, you might just find your next big opportunity this way.
Spend More Time at Networking Events
As mentioned previously, summer is the time that people like to get out. Take advantage of this by getting out to various events in your community. There are likely to be several networking organizations that will offer events for the public to enjoy. For instance, there may be outdoor wine tastings, free concerts, and more. These events offer the perfect opportunity to meet with individuals who work for prominent companies in the area. Of course, if you attend these fun, summertime events, be careful to watch your alcohol intake. You don’t want a wonderful networking opportunity to turn into the most embarrassing and devastating moment in your job search.
Don’t Give Up
During the summer, instead of feeling encouraged during your job search, you may actually feel a bit discouraged due to the difficulties you may run into trying to reach the right people. You have to remember that many employees – especially those in higher positions – may be taking their vacations during the summer while their children are out of school. This means the person you’re looking to connect with may be out of the office more than in. Don’t let this discourage you, though. Instead, be persistent (not annoying) until you can reach the person you’re looking for. This persistence may help you slide past the competition that’s waiting around for people to get back from vacation.
Since it has not been proven that summer is a better time to conduct a job search, it’s good to treat this season like the others. By working hard and persisting as you normally would, you are sure to find that job you want.
